The University of Jamestown Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is hiring a core faculty member who will contribute to the mission of the University of Jamestown and the DPT program. This position is an on‑site core faculty position at our in‑person program in Fargo, ND. Come join our dynamic and collaborative faculty in mentoring the next generation of physical therapists!

Established in 1883, the University of Jamestown is a private, Christian liberal arts university with its roots based in Jamestown, North Dakota. Committed to the “Jamestown Journey to Success,” we integrate liberal arts with professional preparation, fostering academic excellence and a supportive, family‑like community. The physical therapy program recently graduated its 10th cohort and has a track record of success on the NPTE and employment for graduates.

Position Overview

As a core faculty member, teaching, scholarship and service are required. Teaching includes course development, primary instruction, team‑teaching, and participation in curricular meetings. Teaching responsibilities will be based on areas of expertise, interest, and program needs.
Current program needs include foundational courses covering clinical assessment, community health and wellness, acute care, pediatrics, and administration. All areas of experience are encouraged to apply.

Enhancing the profession through participation in research is required. Mentoring in the development of an active scholarly research agenda will be provided.

Service is also required and may include service to the university, the program, the profession and the community. Faculty members are allowed to maintain some clinical hours to maintain clinical expertise.

Minimum requirements
  • DPT degree
  • Current Physical Therapy (PT) license and eligible for PT license in North Dakota
Preferred qualifications
  • Academic doctorate degree (PhD, DSc, or EdD)
  • Board‑certified clinical specialist
  • Teaching experience
  • Research experience
  • Experience as a Clinical Instructor for PT students
