• Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property
• Must have successful completion of an approved residency program in Urology during which 3 years were devoted to Urological surgery.

Summary:

CICONIX is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Urology Physician to support the Fargo VA Health Care System at the Fargo VA Medical Center.

About the Role:

• Responsible for evaluating and treating patients in a Urological outpatient clinic daily, seeing patients on consultation and coordinating referral of consultants when necessary.
• Make in patient rounds for Urological patients. Provide basic general urological care.
• Perform cystoscopies, vasectomies, scrotal surgeries, ureteroscopies, transurethral surgeries for prostate disease and bladder cancer.
• Perform major urological procedures involving:
• Kidney, bladder, prostate, ureter, urethra, testes, scrotum, epididymis, and spermatic cord
• Utilize advanced urology technologies including:
• Holmium laser
• Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)
• Fluoroscopy
• Document all care in the VA electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with VA policy.
• Communicate test results to patients and providers within VA-mandated timelines.
• Participate in Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement (QA/QI) activities and peer reviews.
• Comply with all VA patient safety, privacy, infection control, and clinical practice standards.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • MD or DO degree.
• Licensure & Certifications (Current & Unrestricted):
  • Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property. A North Dakota license is preferred but not required.
  • Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU).
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.
  • North Dakota medical license.
• Experience:
  • Must have successful completion of an approved residency program in Urology during which 3 years were devoted to Urological surgery.
• Security & Background Check:
  • U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements, reflected of CDC guidelines.
  • Robotics certified is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
  • Ability to work onsite daily at the Fargo VA Medical Center.
