Materials Manager

Overview

Growing Manufacturing Company has a need for a Materials Manager in Butte, MT. This is a direct hire role with a full benefits package and relocation.

• Sourcing equipment, goods and services and bringing those items to the production floor.
• Perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of existing vendors, as well as searching for reliable new suppliers with improved costing structure.
• Oversee receiving, inventory stocking, kitting and delivery to the shop floor.
• Ensure quantity and timing of component deliveries
• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
• Track and follow up on procurements to ensure promised delivery dates are maintained
• Manage receiving, inventory and kitting operations
• Eliminate production parts shortages and issuing errors
• Ensure accuracy of inventory counts in the ERP system
• Manage buyers and inventory specialists
• Write and execute Purchase Orders as needed
• Follow historical and competitive vendor costs to obtain the best pricing possible to guard against price gouging

• Proven working experience as purchasing manager, agent or officer
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
• A knack for negotiation and networking
• Working experience of vendor management software
• Ability to gather and analyze data in relation to cost, quality and delivery
• Solid judgement along with decision making skills
• Strong leadership capabilities
• Strong Computer Skills
• Familiarity and/or experience with ERP systems as a management tool
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Enthusiasm for working in a diverse, demanding, and exciting technology environment
• Strong work ethic and team player attributes

Education: BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration, or equivalent
