Electrical Service Engineer
Location:
Fareham
Working Hours:
Minimum for 40-hour working week.
Salary: £50,000 Per Annum
We are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Service Engineer to join our client, a well‑established engineering business specialising in pumping solutions.

The Role
As an Electrical Service Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and servicing a wide range of electrical and diesel pump systems. Working both in the depot and on customer sites, you’ll carry out diagnostics, troubleshooting, and electrical work to the highest standards while supporting the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and overhaul pump fleet and associated equipment.
* Program PLC controls and complete final electrical connections on site installations.
* Focus primarily on electrical pump systems, with some involvement in diesel units.
* Work both in the depot and on external customer sites.
* Follow all Health & Safety requirements, including correct use of PPE.
* Complete all required paperwork, reports, timesheets, expenses, and QHSE documentation.
* Adhere to company quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
* Support and mentor new engineers and apprentices.
* Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service.
* Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota for emergency breakdowns.
* Undertake training relevant to the role and personal development.
* Ensure personal documentation (e.g., driving licence, medicals) is kept up to date.
* Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment in line with company and manufacturer guidelines.
* Report PPE requirements and ensure equipment is properly cared for.
* Carry out additional tasks as required to support the department and wider business.
Experience & Skills Required
* Completed a recognised electrical or mechanical apprenticeship.
* Minimum of two years’ experience working with similar products in a service environment.
* Competent with diagnostic tools and relevant engineering equipment.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Confident liaising with colleagues, management, suppliers, OEMs, and customers.
Qualifications
* 18th Edition qualification (essential).
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
* CSCS card preferred but not essential.
