Gas Engineer

Position: Gas Engineer (Permanent)
Optima Site Solutions require an experienced Gas Engineer.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Gas Engineer to join our client based in Fareham. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across various commercial and industrial properites across the south of England. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, plumbing, and safety regulations to ensure efficient and safe operation of gas-related equipment.

Duties

* Install, service, and repair gas appliances and systems in accordance with safety standards and regulations

* Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform necessary maintenance

* Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to complete tasks efficiently

* Perform welding and carpentry work as required during installation or repair processes

* Assist with plumbing tasks related to gas systems, ensuring proper connections and safety compliance

* Carry out heavy lifting of equipment or materials safely, adhering to health and safety guidelines

* Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and installations

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role with relevant technical skills

* Strong mechanical knowledge related to gas systems and appliances

* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently

* Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installations or repairs

* Valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transportation between sites

* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments.
