Lead Electrical Engineer

CBRE GWS is recruiting a Lead Engineer to support the operation of site. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with experience in electrical systems and critical environments who can lead maintenance delivery while ensuring compliance, safety, and service excellence.

You will apply a risk-focused maintenance approach, manage engineering activities, and act as a key technical point of contact on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage engineering maintenance activities
  • Allocate work to engineering team members and manage specialist contractors
  • Ensure all plant, systems, and services meet client requirements and SLAs
  • Manage change control and dilapidation plans in business-critical areas
  • Deliver emergency response, standby, and call-out support as required
  • Monitor utilities, environmental performance, and critical equipment loading
  • Ensure PPMs and statutory compliance maintenance are delivered on schedule
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and compliance documentation
  • Support technical audits and cost-effective procurement of maintenance services
  • Operate within agreed engineering maintenance budgets
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with CBRE Health & Safety procedures
  • Escalate critical or urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager
Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Qualified Electrician (Apprenticeship, HND, City & Guilds)
  • 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations
  • Experience working in critical environments (data centres desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of emergency response and business-critical systems
  • Knowledge of UPS, standby power, and critical cooling systems
  • IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
  • Strong contractor and supplier management skills
  • Confident decision-maker with excellent communication skills
  • Competent with MS Office and PC-based systems

Desirable:

  • Experience with BMS controls and HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of water hygiene (L8)
  • Experience supporting EHS, Quality, and compliance systems
