Prospero Teaching are supporting a warm, nurturing resource provision in Portchester that works with secondary-aged students experiencing high anxiety and complex SEMH needs. They are seeking compassionate, resilient Learning Support Coaches who can start as soon as possible and make a meaningful difference from day one.

This role goes far beyond classroom support. You'll become a trusted, steady adult for young people who have difficulty in mainstream settings-helping them feel safe, understood, and capable of progress.

Who Thrives in This Role?

We've seen excellent success from people with backgrounds in:

Psychology or counselling
Youth work or mentoring
Sports coaching
Care or social work
SEN/SEMH experience

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting students with high anxiety and SEMH needs
Using trauma‑informed approaches to guide behaviour
Building consistent, respectful relationships
Encouraging emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement in learning

What We're Looking For

A patient, empathetic, flexible approach

Experience with SEMH, anxiety, or communication challenges (advantageous)
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
A genuine commitment to helping students succeed-especially on difficult days

Requirements

Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
References covering the last 24 months
