Position: Secondary Learning Support Assistant / Mentor
Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants and Mentors to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Fareham. This is a brilliant opportunity to support students aged 11-16, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a supportive classroom environment.

Role Overview

You'll work alongside teaching staff to deliver personalised support to students who may require additional help with behaviour, engagement, or learning.

Your role will involve both one‑to‑one and small‑group support, with a strong focus on building confidence, encouraging participation, and promoting positive progress.

Working Hours:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 08:30 - 15:00

Tuesday: 08:30 - 14:30

Pay Rate:
From £13.96 per hour

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who can bring energy, patience, and a nurturing approach to the role. You should be someone who:

Remains calm and positive in challenging situations

Demonstrates strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills

Is passionate about motivating students and supporting their engagement

Communicates clearly and confidently with staff and pupils

Is reflective, proactive, and keen to develop professionally

Has experience supporting young people in an educational or similar setting

Requirements

To be considered, you must:

Have the right to work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child‑barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)

Be able to provide two professional references relating to work with children
