Wraparound Playworker at Mawnan C of E VA Praimary School

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Wraparound Play Worker to join our team at Mawnan CE VA Primary School. As a Wraparound Play Worker, you will be responsible for providing a caring, secure, and enriching environment for children after the school day.

Contract:

To start as soon as possible. Fixed term until end of July 2026 (beyond if the club runs successfully). Salary:
Grade 1.1 - (Living wage £23,151) – hourly rate £12.50 = £7,573 per annum.

Hours:

Monday – Friday 15 hours a week and term time only. Contact time with children 3:00pm - 6:00pm.

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the after-school setting and maintaining high standards of supervision.
• Organise and assist in a variety of indoor and outdoor play sessions, encouraging active participation and engagement.
• Provide first aid provision as needed and maintain appropriate health and safety standards.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and their families, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and their families.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to multitask and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Creativity and resourcefulness in planning and facilitating a range of engaging play-based activities.
• Adaptability and flexibility to respond to the changing needs and interests of the children.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a good understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
• Enthusiasm for working with primary school-aged children and a genuine interest in supporting their holistic development.
• Willingness to learn and continuously develop one's skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care and support.

• Previous experience working with children in a similar setting
• Relevant qualifications in childcare or a related field
• Current first aid certificate and food handling qualification (or willingness to undertake training)
