Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Life Span) - Cape Cod Responsibilities

• Prescribes medication, implements patient teaching and facilitates next-care linkages, referrals and/or admissions to ensure smooth and timely transitions to appropriate level of care/service.
• Covering and treating behavioral health patients in the Emergency Department.
• Providing consultative services for patients with potential or definitive co-morbid psychiatric illnesses admitted to the medical/surgical floors, treating a significant number of geriatric patients with behavioral health issues.
• Evaluating care needs, gathering relevant clinical data, evaluating laboratory data, and making sound clinical recommendations.
• Working independently with telephonic back-up from a psychiatrist.

• Full-time position.
• Prefer inpatient and/or ED experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Good judgment and tact in dealing with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical skills to evaluate care needs and make clinical recommendations.
