Nursing Assistant​/Transport​/Trainee

Purpose of Position

The safe, courteous and efficient transport of patients and/or materials and specimens as needed.

• Must be courteous to patients, customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
• Transports patients via wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Identify and locate needed accessories to facilitate transport.
• Vital signs, oxygen saturation, weights, and non‑invasive specimen collection.
• Answering call lights.
• Making beds both empty and occupied.
• Turning and positioning patients, range of motion, ambulation, and toiletry.
• Assistance with all ADL's and complete care as needed.
• Setting up, assisting and educating patients, commodes, bedpans, urinals, sitz baths, walkers, wheelchairs, slings, knee mobilizers, knee immobilizers, trapeze, venodyne boots, crutches, specific precautions.
• Appropriate emptying and/or recording of all drainage devices.
• Setting up all equipment routinely used on their home base units.
• Preparing room for admission.
• Removal of linens.
• Light maintenance defined as not needing tools and within the patient rooms.
• Stocking of floor pantry.
• Answering telephone.
• Must wear facility provided identification badge.
• Performs other work‑related duties and activities as assigned or requested by immediate supervisor.

• Ability to read, write and communication in English
• Obtain BLS Certification upon completion of the Apprenticeship Program
• The Nursing Assistant Registered Apprenticeship Program:
• Includes a classroom curriculum with an accredited Nursing Assistant Program
• Includes on‑the‑job training
• Must successfully complete Program within 6 months of hire into Trainee role
• Upon completion of the Falmouth Hospital Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship Program, incumbent will transfer into the Nursing Assistant, Grade FHS5A, Job Code: 00339

• Ability to read, write and communication in English
• Obtain BLS Certification upon completion of the Will‑Train program
• Upon completion of the Falmouth Hospital Nursing Assistant Will‑Train program, successful passage of the Falmouth Hospital written competency exam for Nursing Assistant
• Upon completion of the Falmouth Hospital Nursing Assistant Will‑Train program, incumbent will transfer into the Nursing Assistant, Grade FHS5A, Job Code: 00339

• Ability to read, write and communication in English
• Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
• Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Program
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program
• Successful completion of an EMT Program
• Successful completed of an LPN Program
• Equivalent clinical Military experience
• Completed at least one year of an accredited Nursing School Program
• Successful completion of the Falmouth Hospital Nursing Assistant Will‑Train or Trainee program
• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Successful passage of CPI training within 6 months from hire and must maintain recertification annually

32PP (16 hours per week), Rot Days/Eves, 8a-4p, E/O Weekend & Rot Holidays
