We are seeking a skilled and reliable full-time Painter to join our dedicated maintenance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our apartments and homes are in pristine condition for new residents. Your responsibilities will include interior and exterior painting, as well as restoring units to a "like new" standard between occupancies. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will directly contribute to a positive experience for our new and returning residents.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare residential units for new residents by restoring them to a "like new" condition. This includes painting walls, ceilings, trim, and other surfaces. Installing new appliances, counter top, bathroom fixtures, etc.
- Thoroughly prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and filling holes and cracks.
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other appropriate tools.
- Mix paints to match specified colors or create custom shades.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage of materials and equipment.
- Perform minor repairs to walls and ceilings as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Communicate effectively with the maintenance team and other staff members regarding unit turnover timelines.
- Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed, including on call rotation.
- Proven experience as a painter, with a strong understanding of residential maintenance.
- Thorough knowledge of painting techniques and materials.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively restore apartments/homes to a high standard between residents.
- Ability to prepare surfaces properly and achieve high-quality finishes.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet unit turnover schedules.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
- Reliable transportation.
- Experience in a healthcare or senior living environment.
- Familiarity with different types of paint and coatings suitable for residential use.
