Rail Car Technician-Vinyl Floor Installer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Rail Car Technician-Vinyl Floor Installer to join our team in Falls Church, VA, as a Full-Time employee with Benefits.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, following field modification instructions, and executing precise floor installations. This role requires expertise in using measuring tools, adhesives, and fillers, as well as ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols.

• Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and field modification instructions to ensure precise installations.
• Measurement Proficiency: Utilize calibrated measuring tools accurately while ensuring compliance with calibration expiration dates.
• Hardware Removal: Safely and efficiently remove hardware as part of the preparation process for installations.
• Final Assembly Installation: Perform high-quality vinyl floor installations, ensuring adherence to design and industry standards.
• Adhesive Application: Apply various adhesives and fillers with precision to ensure durability and quality.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

• Must wear the following PPE as required:
  • Safety shoes
  • Bump hats
  • Safety vest (as needed)
• Must pass the WMATA-required Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) Training Safety Rule Test.

• Must pass a personal background check as a condition of employment.

• Proven experience in vinyl floor installation or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.
• Proficiency in using calibrated measuring tools and understanding calibration standards.
• Experience with adhesive materials and their proper application.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with industry standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
