Assistant Store Leader
Primary
Purpose:
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in retail to drive clienteling, leadership, brand consistency, and operational excellence in support of store performance.
- Clientele development through coaching the team on proactive client outreach and building and maintaining relationships with new clients.
- Partner with Store Leader (SL) to develop business-driving initiatives that build repeat business or attract new customers to the store.
- Ensure each associate actively utilizes their client book to increase sales through monthly client book reviews and outreach evaluation.
- Ensure the team is compliant with clientele standards and the thank-you note program.
- Ensure all associates complete the sales training program.
- Model and supervise the selling environment and coach the sales training process to ensure the highest level of customer service and sales.
- Assist SL with achieving financial success by improving store performance metrics.
- Responsible for assuming the SL role in the manager’s absence.
- Lead by example with personal sales goals.
- Educate the team on sales plans, personal goals, and measurable statistics; coach to these stats to maximize business.
- Network in the community to fill open positions efficiently with minimal business impact.
- Conduct ongoing review and assessment of employee performance.
- Understand and communicate the kate spade new york brand aesthetic, philosophy, and lifestyle to the sales team and customers.
- Ensure brand and operating standards are met to support brand consistency.
- Ensure visual merchandising directives are implemented and store presentation standards are achieved and maintained.
- Communicate merchandise sell-through, stock position, business trends, product issues, and customer feedback to SL to increase service and sales.
- Perform and supervise store opening and closing procedures including counting funds, deposits, registering, and securing the facility.
- Assist SL with maintaining payroll budget by managing schedules and adjustments as needed.
- Monitor, maintain, and follow company policies and procedures with a focus on loss prevention.
- Accurately manage the processing of all POS transactions to maintain inventory integrity.
- Accomplished individuals will possess:
Minimum 3 years of management experience in a comparable retail environment; college degree preferred; prior luxury goods experience preferred; professional sales development and exceptional interpersonal skills; strong leadership and communication skills; ability to analyze selling reports and react quickly to business needs; decision-making and conflict mediation ability; proficiency in Windows software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Available to work store schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Work Setup
BASE PAY RANGE $18.50 TO $31.50 — Tapestry will comply with minimum wage requirements based on location.
