The Tower Operating Room at Inova Fairfax Medical is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN Unit Supervisor to join our team full-time. The Tower OR is 24/7, serving as the region's only Level 1 Trauma facility. We average 55-75 patients a day and perform a wide range of procedures including Neurosurgery, Spine, Orthopedics, Surgical Oncology, Urology, Plastics, Robotics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT, General, Trauma, Thoracic, Vascular, Dental, OMFS, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary and Transplant.

Nurse must be available to take call, rotate weekends, holidays and off-shifts. Our clinical ladder program rewards those who desire CNOR certification, demonstrate leadership and initiative.

This position offers a weekend differential premium.

Full‑time, 3/12‑hour weekend shifts. Hours vary based on unit needs; nurse must accommodate call and rotating shifts.

• Integrate evidence‑based practice and research into clinical and operational practice as physician liaison and primary information resource.
• Analyze unit quality outcomes; develop, deploy, and enculturate action plans for systematic improvement.
• Provide individualized coaching and counseling to clinical staff on critical processes, standards, problem solving, and critical thinking.
• Serve as a role model in communication with patients, identifying concerns, diffusing difficult situations, and facilitating resolution.
• Conduct safety huddles using relevant information to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Meet the unique needs of each person Inova Health System serves, every time.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with ISHAPED handoff and adherence to high quality standards.
• Oversee RN rounding to ensure patient satisfaction and identify improvement areas.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

• Minimum 1 year direct OR experience as an RN.
• BSN or ADN from an accredited nursing school; if RN has an ADN, must complete BSN/MSN within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a registered nurse.
• Basic Life Support certification with the American Heart Association; complete revised Charge Nurse workshop within first 90 days of hire.

AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion, CNOR, and Level 1 Trauma experience.
