Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and VA or compact RN licensure.

Job Details

• Position is in a hospital Operating Room setting with 25 OR rooms,

• Handles adult and pediatric populations with a caseload of 60-80 surgical cases per day,

• Service lines include ortho (total joints, OTT), general surgery, robotics, organ transplants (kidney), ENT, oral/maxillofacial, vascular/thoracic, urology, and pediatrics,

• 8-hour day shifts with required night rotation as needed,

• Weekend shifts required (2-3 shifts per 6-week schedule, usually not both days of a weekend),

• On-call required: 4-hour blocks, 3-4 shifts (including weekdays and weekends) every 6 weeks,

• At least 1 major and 1 minor holiday shift required,

• EMR system used is Epic OpTime; experience preferred,

• Scrubs provided by the facility,

Job Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required,

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required,

• Minimum 2 years of Level 1 trauma OR nursing experience required,

• Travel nursing experience with at least 1-2 prior assignments is required,

• Strongly prefer experience in endovascular and robotic surgery,

• Neonate and pediatric OR experience preferred,

• Epic OpTime experience preferred,

Additional Information

• Role involves circulating and scrubbing for a wide range of surgical procedures,

• On weekends, 5-6 rooms run on Saturday and 4 rooms for urgent cases operate 24/7,

• Serve both adult and pediatric patients, with a preference for candidates experienced with neonates,

• Must be able to adapt to night rotations and varying weekend schedules,

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role,
