Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular​/CVOR

Position: Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR/CVOR
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring both scrub and circulate experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases.

Job Details

• Hospital-based Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) setting,

• Primary responsibility is scrubbing, with circulating duties also required,

• Cases include coronary artery bypass (primary and redo), aortic aneurysms, aortic and mitral valve replacements (primary and redo), TAVR, ECMO, and VAD procedures for adults; pediatric experience is a plus,

• Scheduled shifts are 6a-4:30p, 9a-7:30p, or 6a-7:30p based on department needs,

• Work schedule includes 8-10 shifts per 6-week period, with 1-2 weekend shifts per 6 weeks,

• On-call responsibilities are required,

• Holiday coverage required for one major summer holiday and one major winter holiday per department needs,

• Free on-site parking is available,

Job Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required,

• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required,

• CNOR certification is preferred,

• 3 to 5 years recent experience as a scrub and circulating nurse in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular OR cases required,

• Ability to multitask and demonstrate strong critical thinking skills,

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment,

Additional Information

• Participate in a variety of advanced cardiovascular surgical cases,

• Engage in ongoing departmental research protocols as needed,

• Overtime may be required based on patient and department demands,

• Professional departmental participation is expected,

• Requested time off must be added to the end of contracts to fulfill a full 13-week assignment,
