Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Operating Room position requiring a VA or compact license and recent Level 1 trauma experience.
Responsibilities- Position is based in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
- Night shift; 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Average caseload of 60-80 surgeries per day with 25 OR rooms
- Service lines include orthopedics (including total joints), general surgery, robotics, organ transplants (kidney), ENT, oral/maxillofacial, vascular/thoracic, urology, and both adult and pediatric cases
- Neonate and pediatric experience preferred
- Weekend requirement is 2-3 shifts per 6-week schedule, either Saturday or Sunday
- Call and holiday coverage are not required on night shift
- Uses Epic EMR with OpTime module
- Scrubs are provided
- Primary responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a wide variety of surgical cases
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
- Facility usually runs 5-6 ORs on Saturday and Sunday, with urgent cases on weekends and 2 ORs running at night
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment
- Holiday and call coverage are not required for night shifts
- Active VA or compact RN license
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level 1 trauma OR experience required
- Travel nursing experience of at least 1-2 assignments; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Experience in both scrub and circulate roles required
