Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Unit Nights

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Medical Unit Full‑Time Night Shift. The patient population includes ED admissions and Medical/Surgical patients with a variety of diagnoses.

• Perform patient assessments and follow written plans of care while utilizing assessment data to identify patient care needs.
• Organize, prioritize and deliver patient care using Inova's Nursing Professional Practice Model and Care Delivery Model to achieve desired outcomes.
• Provide compassionate, hands‑on care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
• State rationale for clinical decisions based on knowledge, principles and evidence‑based practices.
• Work efficiently within the healthcare team to improve productivity and outcomes.
• Accurately document all patient care activities per documentation standards and seek assistance to improve documentation skills.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as an active team member.
• Integrate nursing skills with new knowledge, seek practice resources, validate clinical decisions, and welcome feedback and mentoring.
• Attend and complete all learning sessions required for the Registered Nurse Fellowship, including classroom work, computer modules, lab simulations, and readings.
• May serve as a preceptor following appropriate orientation and competency completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Work schedule:
  
  12‑hour night shift (7 pm – 7 am).
• Education:
  
  BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If the RN holds an ADN, the RN must complete a BSN within five years of the start date.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience, including LTC, Rehab, Home Health and Outpatient settings.
• Certification:
  Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse or holding an active multi‑state RN license. BLS from the American Heart Association required.
