Inova is seeking a highly skilled PRN Project Manager / Management Consultant to support the Northern Virginia Healthcare Workforce Collaborative
, a regional council Inova convenes in partnership with healthcare systems, universities, school districts, workforce organizations, and community and government leaders.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, strategic project manager with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to plan for long-term success. The successful candidate will lead executive-level stakeholders, manage complex initiatives, and drive alignment around a shared mission to strengthen the healthcare workforce across Northern Virginia and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
While Inova serves as the convener, this role operates with a collaborative approach—ensuring all participating organizations have an equal voice in shaping priorities, solutions, and outcomes.
This is a unique opportunity to play a meaningful role in the future of healthcare workforce development in Northern Virginia while working in a flexible, high-impact PRN role that influences policy, education, and healthcare delivery across the Commonwealth.
About the Northern Virginia Healthcare Workforce CollaborativeThe Northern Virginia Healthcare Workforce Collaborative is part of the Virginia Partnership for Health Science Careers. The council brings together employers, educators, and workforce development professionals to:
- Address current healthcare workforce shortages
- Identify shared barriers and opportunities
- Develop sustainable, regional workforce solutions
- Build a future-ready healthcare talent pipeline
- Represents Northern Virginia and the Collaborative at State level meetings

Job SummaryThe PRN Project Manager serves as the strategic and operational lead for the Collaborative, driving planning, engagement, and execution across multiple stakeholders. This role blends management consulting, project management, and executive facilitation to ensure the Collaborative remains focused, impactful, and aligned to its mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and facilitate large, diverse groups of senior executives and regional leaders
- Keep the Collaborative aligned to its mission, vision, and strategic priorities
- Develop, implement, and continuously update the Collaborative's strategic plan
- Apply data-driven insights and metrics to guide strategy, evaluate outcomes, and inform stakeholder decision making
- Plan and manage meetings, agendas, deliverables, and follow-through
- Ensure engagement, momentum, and accountability across working groups
- Represent the Collaborative at monthly state-level coordinator meetings
- Coordinate with universities, Northern Virginia school districts, healthcare systems, and workforce partners
- Present to medium and large audiences on strategy, progress, and outcomes
- Travel to in-person meetings across the region as needed
- Establish metrics and tracking systems to measure impact and ROI
- Keep cross-functional partners engaged, informed, and moving forward
- Proven ability to lead and engage large groups of executive-level stakeholders
- Exceptional organization and project management skills
- Strong facilitation skills to keep groups focused, productive, and energized
- Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
- Strategic mindset with execution discipline
- Strong presentation and communication skills

- Comfort working across education, healthcare, government, and community sectors
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field. A degree in Healthcare Administration is strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in Management consulting, Project management, Strategic operations, or senior leadership in healthcare or workforce development
