Responsibilities
Data Governance Specialist supports the organization’s risk governance and control environment by ensuring accurate information capture, disciplined data management, and high‑quality research and analysis that informs risk decisions. The role requires strong analytical thinking, advanced attention to detail, and the ability to work across core application systems to perform data entry, data mining, data movement, and documentation aligned to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards.
The candidate identifies and collects data sources, analyzes and extracts key information, evaluates and monitors data quality to meet the organization’s information system needs and requirements.
- Maintain and administer risk governance activities, including risk data collection, control evidence capture, and periodic reporting.
- Support risk assessments, control testing, issue tracking, and remediation documentation by ensuring timely and accurate record‑keeping.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure governance processes align to defined policies, standards, and procedures.
- Perform accurate, timely data entry into governance/risk tools and core application systems while adhering to data quality requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in governance, risk, compliance, audit, operations, or a data analytics role.
- Experience in the DHA, VA, or healthcare sector.
- Proficiency in data entry, validation, reconciliation, and documentation standards.
- Strong ability to work within core application systems and handle structured data with precision.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
