Position Title: Senior Principal Release Train Engineer / Integration Lead (SAFe RTE)

Join a high-impact Agile transformation initiative as a Senior Principal Release Train Engineer (RTE) and Integration Lead
, where you'll serve as the servant leader and coach for large-scale Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in a complex, enterprise environment. This senior role empowers you to drive strategic alignment, optimize value delivery, and foster high-performing, self-organizing teams across multiple task orders and integrated systems.

You'll play a pivotal role in scaling SAFe practices, managing cross-team dependencies, and ensuring seamless execution of program objectives — all while coaching senior leadership and teams toward continuous improvement and relentless innovation. Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Alignment

  • Coach enterprise teams and senior leadership on SAFe implementation, promoting Lean-Agile principles and ensuring strong strategic alignment between vision, portfolio, and execution.
  • Guide Lean Portfolio Management and enable effective Lean Budgeting to connect financial practices with Agile delivery.

Program Execution & Coordination

  • Act as servant leader for ART execution, building and maintaining program roadmaps in partnership with Product Management.
  • Facilitate critical SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning
    , Inspect & Adapt workshops, Scrum of Scrums, and System Demos to drive alignment and value delivery.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple task orders, serving as the central collaboration hub for Agile Release Train efforts.
  • Oversee integration strategies, monitor dependencies, and ensure seamless delivery of integrated solutions across systems and task orders.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment, integration testing, and risk mitigation to deliver fully functioning, cohesive outcomes.

Team Enablement & Development

  • Provide hands-on coaching to ARTs
    , Product Managers
    , Scrum Masters
    , and emerging Agile leaders to build self-organizing, high-performing teams.
  • Mentor other Agile coaches and deliver training on SAFe best practices to strengthen organizational maturity.

Risk, Impediment & Performance Management

  • Proactively identify and resolve impediments, risks, and bottlenecks impacting delivery.
  • Establish and track key Agile metrics (velocity, cycle time, flow efficiency) and conduct maturity assessments to drive continuous improvement.

Stakeholder & Dev Ops Leadership

  • Build strong relationships with Business Owners, enterprise leaders, and stakeholders to influence decisions and balance priorities.
  • Promote a Dev Ops culture with continuous delivery pipelines, automation, and value stream optimization.

Required Skills/

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or related field.
  • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification required;
    SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification highly desired.
  • 10+ years of experience in Agile coaching and scaling frameworks (
    SAFe
    , Scrum, Kanban, Lean) in large, complex environments.
  • Minimum 8+ years directly coaching Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and leading enterprise-level Agile transformations
    .
  • Deep expertise in Lean Portfolio Management
    , ART facilitation, dependency management, and SAFe ceremonies.
  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git Lab, and others.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and influencing skills to engage senior executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to foster transparency, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Extensive experience coaching senior leadership on advanced SAFe practices and scaling across distributed teams.
