At Virginia Heart, we are looking for a professional Cardiac Monitoring Tech with experience in trans-telephonic pacemaker checks. Cardiac Monitoring Tech must perform duties in a courteous and professional manner to fulfill the needs of Virginia Heart's patients, physicians and others while maintaining the proper balance of integrity, privacy and quality patient care. A high level of customer service and accuracy is required.

Events to include therapy dogs, raffles, and other fun events
- Uses Pace Art software to interact with patients to perform trans-telephonic checks according to a detailed appointment schedule. Works with internal customers to provide accurate interpretation of baseline event monitors transmissions; performs halter scanning on a continual basis and in keeping with Virginia Heart’s policies and procedures.
- Edits and prepares reports for Cardiologist. Schedules appointments for pacemaker monitoring and facilitates appropriate in-office follow up.
- Able to troubleshoot pacemakers by identifying EKG abnormalities that result from pacing reflection.
- Uses EPIC to obtain patient information and to update referral information.
- Trains patients on proper use of transmitting device and answers pertinent questions.
- Troubleshoots pacemaker malfunctions by identifying ECG abnormalities.
- Predicts impending pacemaker system failure before patient is at risk.
- Performs other tasks as needed to support the team and exceptional patient care.
- Associate degree preferred
- Certificate of completion from an accredited ECG course emphasizing knowledge of arrhythmia interpretation and basic pacemaker follow-up
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital or clinical cardiology preferred
- Knowledge of cardiac pacing in a clinical setting
- Must be familiar with NASPE/HRS pacemaker codes, i.e., NBG Coding System
- Basic knowledge of AICDs required
- Experience in cardiac surveillance and Holter monitoring preferred
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Excellent communication skills required
