Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for a dedicated Tax Preparer to join our team in Falls Church, Virginia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient tax preparation for individual clients. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in tax software to support seamless operations.

Responsibilities:

- Organize and manage client documents to ensure accurate record-keeping.

- Scan and maintain electronic files for efficient document management.

- Upload and retrieve client documents using the portal system.

- Handle incoming documents received via mail or in person with care.

- Maintain a control list to track all received documents.

- Safeguard and manage client payments securely.

- Prepare bank deposits approximately twice per week.

- Perform data entry tasks within the tax preparation program.

- Assist in preparing individual tax returns with precision and compliance. Requirements - Proven experience in individual tax preparation.

- Strong knowledge of Lacerte Tax Software and its functionalities.

- Familiarity with handling client payments and preparing bank deposits.

- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple documents and tasks.

- Ability to accurately enter data into tax preparation programs.

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to safeguarding sensitive information.

- Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction and communication.
