Financial Consultant
NASA Federal Credit Union is looking for a Financial Advisor who provides professional advisory services to Retail and Business clients. The role includes preparing and delivering comprehensive financial plans covering portfolio reviews, analysis and assessments, pre/post retirement planning, asset allocation strategies, and account management. The advisor should enhance participation levels of investment programs and ensure ongoing quality service to existing members and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Remain cognizant of and adhere to Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Identify potential clients through advertising campaigns, mailing lists, referral sources, and personal contacts.
- Solicit business from prospects by proactively communicating available services.
- Profile clients to determine current investment objectives while addressing overall financial goals.
- Provide clients with information and advice on a range of offerings including Mutual Funds, Annuities, Advisory accounts, Life Insurance, and other broker/dealer approved products.
- Open and service new accounts, finalizing sales and routing documents for processing.
- Review status reports and perform calculations to monitor client accounts and verify transactions.
- Develop and implement financial plans using available software.
- Process incoming client mail, paperwork, and all other account servicing tasks.
- Interface with mutual fund companies, insurance companies, clearinghouses, and the Broker/Dealer to meet member/client needs and stay current on product offerings and regulatory changes.
- Listen empathetically to clients, gather facts, analyze total needs, and make responsible recommendations.
- Build long‑term financial advisory relationships with clients.
- Manage incoming referrals from assigned branches and surrounding territories.
- Maintain member/client files and records in accordance with regulatory and firm requirements.
- Conduct offline or online research to resolve member/client problems.
- Set and keep consistent office hours.
- Two plus years of relevant experience and/or training in sales of investment products, ideally in a bank or credit union environment.
- College degree preferred.
- Proven track record of performance requiring minimum supervision.
- Licensing required:
Series 7 (required or attained within 6 months of employment), Series 63, 65 or 66, Life & Health. A valid driver’s license is required. CFP designation preferred. - Salary: $45,000 – $45,000 per year (Base + Commission).
