ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage and ultimately guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

Role skills and day-to-day expectations

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience
  • Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns
  • Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services

As a Guest Advocate, a typical day will include the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
  • Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
  • Make the guest aware of current promos, store activities and events
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve issues and improve guest experience
  • Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
  • Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up as needed
  • Scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with safety standards and company practices
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • Explain and demonstrate features in the Target App, including Wallet
  • Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering; assist guests with enrollment and use
  • Handle returns per policy; collaborate with leadership to resolve guest needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace; manage unpurchased items and store equipment
  • Stock supplies during store hours while being available to guests
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work safely; comply with safety policies and training; report hazards
  • Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-Up (DU) orders and DU returns with compliance to laws
  • All other duties based on business needs

  • Accurately handle checkout operations, transactions, and support cash office operations as needed
  • Scan, handle and move merchandise safely; lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally
  • Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable and prompt attendance
