Infant​/Toddler Teaching Assistant

Overview

Congressional School seeks full-time Early Childhood Teaching Assistants to work in our Infant/Toddler classrooms. This is a full-time position with scheduled hours between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday. The Teaching Assistant will work with children ages 6 weeks to 3 years.

• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program.
• Actively supervise the classroom and playgrounds at all times.
• Observe, interact, and engage with children.
• Maintain proper adult to child ratios with each age grouping and classroom.
• Monitor the playground and classroom at all times.
• Help with meals and snacks.
• Follow daily staffing schedule and assist in rooms when requested by the Early Childhood Coordinator or Lead Teachers.

• Experience working with infants and toddlers.
• Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a child related field or a child development/early childhood credential.
• Ability to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the course of the day and the ability to regularly bend, stoop and crouch to physically interact with children and ensure their safety.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children, parents, and co-workers.
