RUNWAY SWEEPER OPERATOR

OverviewOperate runway sweeper to maintain a FOD‑free airfield and runway.
Work ModelOn‑site
Responsibilities- Operate radio and coordinate with airfield control tower and operations to sweep aircraft mats, pads, and runways.
- Check conditions of taxiways and runways and report discrepancies.
- Check all fluid levels and refuel as required before operating.
- Check all tires for wear and air pressure before operating.
- Grease and lubricate moving parts as required.
- Coordinate with operations to sweep aircraft mats and pad eyes.
- Clean sweeper as needed.
- Perform minor adjustments in accordance with Daily Operators Checklist.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Tools and equipment within his or her possession.
- Using PPE when required.
- Timely, cost‑effective performance of duties.
- Working realtor closely and harmoniously with fellow workers.
- Adherence to all safety rules and regulations.
Mandatory:
- Valid Class B State‑issued Driver’s License.
- Proficient reading, speaking, writing,[Double-check?] & comprehension of English.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people professionally and courteously.
Preferred:
- Snowplow/sander experience.
- Ability to operate forklifts up to 20,000 lbs and other heavy equipment.
- Passenger, Tank, and Hazmat endorsements.
- Six (6) months of airfield runway and flight line operations and procedures experience, including radio control and ground communications.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors, subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather.
- Work hours may change with overtime as needed.
- Subject to hazards that may cause bodily harm, including diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, dust odors, and elevated noise levels.
- Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, cement structures السلام surfaces.
- Occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods; sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
- Capable of lifting/moving up to 70 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
- Willing to perform shift work.
