Banner Churchill Community Hospital is looking for a part-time Registered Nurse to work in the ICU department at Fallon, Nevada. As an ICU RN you will work with a variety of disease states and with motivated people. This position is 36 hours per week and will work nights (7p-7a).

Located in Fallon, Nev., Banner Churchill Community Hospital is a 25-bed licensed hospital offering a comprehensive array of medical services in rural northern Nevada. We provide comprehensive and emergency care, including an ambulance service that covers more than 5,900 square miles.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Review patient history and physical with patient/family and ensure completion within the appropriate timeframe. Review information obtained by other health care team members. Review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Complete assessment and reassessment according to patient need and policy.
  • Formulate a plan of care, including the discharge plan, using assessment data and input from patient, family, and health team. Initiate a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data, and the medical plan of care. Ensure goals are realistic, measurable, and developed with patient/family. Consider physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age-specific, and educational needs. Plan care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

    Review and revise the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs.
  • Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team. Provide care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements. Delegate appropriately and provide nursing supervision for care provided by other licensed nurses and personnel. Communicate status of patients to other caregivers to promote continuity of care.
  • Evaluate the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching, and revise the plan of care as needed. Evaluate progress toward goals and outcomes in collaboration with the health care team. Assess effectiveness of patient teaching.
  • Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record. Ensure documentation is legible, timely, and in accordance with policy. Reflect objective/subjective data, nursing interventions, and patient responses. Note physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide care based on the best available evidence and participate in clinical practice activities. Participate in unit or facility leadership. Contribute to education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors. Support growth of others through precepting and mentoring where appropriate.
  • Contribute to outcomes by delivering timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Participate in improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, including involvement in professional organizations as applicable.
  • In some roles, supervise staff and workflow within the department.
  • Interact with staff at all levels, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to coordinate care. Report and clarify information as needed and provide spiritual support when appropriate. Synthesize and prioritize data from multiple sources to support patient and family responses to changes in health status.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current, valid RN license in state of practice, or compact licensure; or temporary/interim RN license as applicable. BLS certification required. Additional certifications or continuing education may be required based on practice area.
  • Experience in the clinical area is desired. Maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year of acute care hospital experience, including the past 12 months in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice roles require similar experience in a physician practice or acute care setting.
  • Home Health: must be able to operate a personal vehicle and hold a valid driver’s license; auto insurance must be active.
  • Some Banner Behavioral Health and related settings require state-specific fingerprint clearance/Card requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional certification preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
