Position: Implementations Network Engineer III with Security Clearance
A large government client of ours is seeking an experienced Activations Network Engineer to join their dynamic team. Responsible for performing and training team on the following duties:
* Perform customer coordination, Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), execution of all reporting functions, and complete data input associated with new service activations to ensure they are implemented in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards.
* Work directly with customers, solution architects and vendor SMEs to implement changes and also identify, analyze, and resolve issues.
* Manage Service Orders, in accordance with Change Management procedures
* Ensure Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) are in place and accurate for scheduled network additions and changes
* Initiate network device configurations using configlets
* Analyze DISN and databases to validate and implement customer requirements
* Design and implementation of solutions to highly technical problems through testing, documentation and modification of configurations on network devices
* Coordinate and program customer circuit activation with commercial vendors to establish the engineered solution for end-to-end connectivity
* Perform network monitoring to assess if deployed changes have caused impacts to customer traffic using provided expectations of traffic behavior, lessons learned, and customer reporting
* Utilize systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements in support of customer resources.
* Engage with the DISA project managers and/or customers to resolve issues with incomplete or unclear requirements.
* Reach out to stakeholders and facilitate approvals as necessary to ensure continual forward progress of the service request.

Basic Qualifications:

* Proficient knowledge of various network hardware equipment specifications, configuration and testing processes, and industry specifications.
* Knowledge of configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
* Network engineering, problem management, and performance management experience.
* Understanding of basic telecommunications and information technology terms and technology.
* Knowledge of data and voice network design carried over various transmissions systems, router to router connections using military and commercial protocols such as BGP and ISIS, switch-to-switch trunking to include VLANS, and circuit configurations through multiplexers.
* Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF, etc.) and network appliances (e.g., routers, load balancers, domain name servers, firewalls).
* Ability to work in a team environment, but self-driven to complete assignments while continually developing proficiencies in processes.
* Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
* An active Secret security clearance is required.
* DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security CE or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications:

* Prior experience at DISA, or knowledge of DISA systems and processes.
* Prior experience with SharePoint data entry.
* Experience performing customer outreach.
* Experience with DISA Request Fulfillment process and associate documents (TSRs, TSOs, completion reports) and circulars experience.
* Basic understanding of Department of Defense, its policies, and hierarchy.
* Basic understanding of DISA organizational structure and how different elements (DITCO, etc.) contribute to fulfilling mission partner TSR requirements.
* Network certifications:
Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security certifications (Security  CE, CISSP, etc.)- ITIL certification.
* Engineer and models' connections across the DISN network by calculating bandwidth constraints.
* Performs simulations to determine the optimal interaction and paths between the different network entities (routers, switches, nodes, access points, links, etc.).
* Conduct network performance optimization using DISN provided tools to assist in the planning and design of multi-technology, multi-vendor networks, provide baseline analysis, cost-effective network change planning, and survivability testing.
* Initiates network grooming, provides impact assessments, and provides alternative routing support during operational / real-world events. This is accomplished by ensuring the integrity of the analytical framework and modeling tools for end-to-end DODIN performance modeling and assessment.
* Dynamically collect and assess key DISA performance parameters, interacting with model-based simulations, recommends optimal configurations to achieve prioritized DoD mission capability and effects. #CJJOBS Marathon TS is committed to the development of a creative, diverse and inclusive work environment.
