Basic Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of 5th Generation (F-35, F-22) and/or Legacy F-16, F-18, F-15 fighter aircraft experience in Modification, Maintenance and/or Quality Assurance roles.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of a USAF 7-level skill rating (or equivalent experience) or UNS/USMC Level 3000 ASM rating and/or 2 years of recent experience as a Quality Control Inspector/Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI)/Quality Assurance in an aircraft maintenance environment.

Job Description

You will be the F-35 Quality Assurance QRT Inspector for the Quick-Reaction Team (QRT) which is responsible for supporting aircraft modification, upgrades, overhaul, and flight line maintenance operations. This position is located in NAS Fallon, NV.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct timely quality inspections of aircraft during modification, upgrade, and overhaul cycles, covering F-35, F-16, and F-22 platforms.
  • Coordinate with maintenance crews and customers to expedite return of aircraft to airworthy status, meeting aggressive tasking timelines.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time, including CONUS/OCONUS deployments, and operate on rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Support NAS Fallon infrastructure for F-35C launch, recovery, and maintenance activities; maintain and update flight-line driver competency cards and uphold all safety and security protocols.
  • When not traveling, be part of the NAS Fallon, NV infrastructure supporting F-35C launch, recovery, and maintenance activities.

Further Information About This Opportunity

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position is located at a facility requiring special access. Must have at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain a Final Secret. Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and be able to acquire and keep a flight line driver competency card.

Physical Requirements: This position may include health screenings and immunizations. Position may require extended work hours.

Desired Skills
  • Experience with the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) and Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).
  • At least 1 year of experience identifying and understanding non-conformities related to safety-of-flight inspections, procedural breakdowns, and/or program audits.
  • Experience using various inspection measurement tools.
  • At least 1 year of experience conducting incident and/or mishap investigation audits, preparing quality documentation and reports, and identifying trends.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inspection of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE/GSE), Hazardous Waste Management programs, Tool & FOD standards, calibration procedures, and general security procedures.
  • Familiar with DCMA Instruction 8210.1C or related in aircraft ground operations and maintenance procedures.
  • Familiar with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 21-101 and/or OPNAV 4790 NAMP instructions.
  • Plan and conduct Process Compliance Surveillance Program (PCSP) audits.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 & AS9100 or AS9110 aviation standards.
  • Ejection Seat Build/R&I qualified;
    Confined Space Entry qualified;
    Canopy FL SCFLSC qualifications.
  • AS9100/9110 Audit inspector certified (QMS).
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with Aircraft Managers/Supervisors, Field Service Reps, System Engineers, Maintenance Logistics Support Managers, Customers, and maintainers regarding quality issues.
  • Contractor or Depot Field Team experience; ability to conduct teleconferences or briefings to management/customers; excellent organizational, administrative, and computer skills (Microsoft Office 365).
