SUMMARY:
Provides Patient Meal Service and cleans all area supporting Meal Service. - Accurately assemble, distribute, and collect patient trays.
- Collect patient trays at the appropriate time and in an efficient manner.
- Clean all wares and equipment used for this purpose, including dish machine, dish room, and related equipment.
- Respond to patient requests in a timely manner.
- Pass patient trays in a correct and courteous manner.
- Handle food safely (maintain temperatures, use barriers, observe HACCP plan).
- Strip trays per procedure and in a timely manner.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned.
- Manage time and resources to complete work assignments within an acceptable time frame.
- Develop and maintain efficient working relationships.
- Be reliable in terms of attendance and punctuality.
- Recognize the importance of team efforts and partner with others to achieve positive outcomes.
- Produce quality results and continuously strive to improve the quality of work.
- Accept responsibility for all work performed and take appropriate corrective action as needed.
- Able to understand and follow instructions; read and use written English.
- Work on feet for long periods of time.
- Be courteous with all customer groups.
- Previous food service experience.
- Cooperate in interactions, treating customers with courtesy, respect, and compassion.
- Patient when responding to questions and answer them appropriately.
- Respond to requests in a timely manner and handle interruptions skillfully.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Strive to prevent/resolve customer concerns to the customer's satisfaction.
- Continue development of work skills through training, educational programs, and on‑job experience.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, in‑services, and/or review documentation as required.
- Assist in orientating others and actively participate in mentoring.
- Perform analytical and decision making functions with minimal supervision.
- Recognize when to seek assistance or consultation.
- Understand hospital and department policies and procedures, including safety issues.
- Be aware of hospital programs/services and their locations.
Pay Range
: $18.19 – $26.53 per hour
