Job Description:
The MIP Packaging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily MIP production and packaging operations to ensure all products are produced, packaged, and documented accurately, safely, and in full compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports production goals, quality control, inventory accuracy, staff training, and ongoing compliance while maintaining clear communication with management.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:30am - 7:00pm
Duties/Responsibilities:
Production & OperationsEnsure daily MIP production goals are met by following the production schedule and delegating tasks appropriately.
Monitor daily production to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with training guidelines.
Generate all packaged production batches in a timely manner, ensuring all RFS units are completed within a 2448 hour window.
Ensure MIP products are packaged according to company standards, including counting accuracy, product quality, and correct labeling.
Perform all quality control (QC) checks for edible batches, including packaging units, software entry, and documentation.
Accurately complete and maintain QC Sample Tracking Logs, MIP Batch Tracking Logs, Live Inventory Sheets, and all required production documentation.
Ensure samples are prepared and available for weekly QC checks.
Maintain strict compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements, including state cannabis regulations and internal SOPs.
Monitor, mitigate, and report any compliance risks or infractions to management.
Input all production batches accurately and compliantly into METRC, internal production tracking systems, and supporting documentation on a daily basis.
Conduct monthly MIP audits and work with management to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Assist management with non-cannabis inventory audits, including weekly physical counts of raw goods and materials.
Ensure inventory audits are completed accurately and concurrently with production activities.
Ensure staff complete daily sanitation goals and maintain a clean packaging environment in compliance with DPH and regulatory standards.
Confirm that all products are stored properly and compliantly at all times.
Assist management in training packaging staff on SOPs and monitoring their progress.
Ensure staff are trained in a timely manner and communicate training needs or performance gaps to management.
Support the ongoing development of packaging technicians by ensuring they have the tools, guidance, and feedback needed for success.
Communicate daily staffing, production, compliance, and operational issues to management.
Maintain professional and effective communication with employees, management, and cross-functional teams.
Maintain consistent attendance and reliability.
Observe scheduled work hours, breaks, and meal periods.
Accurately use timekeeping systems and promptly communicate any corrections needed through appropriate channels.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in manufacturing, production, packaging, or regulated environments preferred
Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Experience in inventory management, audits, or compliance-driven environments is a plus
Cannabis industry experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift, push, or pull materials up to 50 pounds
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
Ability to work in a production or packaging environment
