Membership Coordinator.
Position Summary:
The Membership Coordinator supports the Membership Director in driving membership growth, engagement, and retention while helping to ensure exceptional member experience. This role provides direct support to Welcome Center operations, supervises front-line staff as assigned, and serves as an evening leadership presence within the facility. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, organized, and energized by building community relationships.
Membership & Engagement Support
- Assist in implementing strategies that promote membership recruitment, engagement, and retention.
- Support membership and program enrollment efforts with prospective and current members.
- Conduct outreach calls to new and inactive members.
- Help coordinate member engagement activities and Welcome Center initiatives.
Operations & Member Experience
- Support daily Welcome Center/front desk operations to ensure excellent customer service and accuracy.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and monitoring front desk procedures.
- Coordinate and support program registration processes (phone, walk-in, and online).
- Ensure accurate processing and data entry of membership paperwork and financial transactions.
- Review register reports, assist with preparing bank deposits, and maintain appropriate cash controls.
- Assist in the review of Financial Assistance applications.
Staff Support & Supervision
- Help recruit, train, schedule, and guide Welcome Center staff and volunteers.
- Provide coaching to ensure adherence to YMCA policies and procedures.
- Provide shift coverage as needed, including openings, evenings, and weekends.
Facility Leadership & Safety
- Serve as evening/weekend Building Manager when scheduled.
- Act as the point of contact for safety and security concerns during assigned shifts.
- Monitor and report facility issues in partnership with leadership.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Membership Director and Marketing team to maximize enrollment efforts.
- Represent YMCA Southcoast in a professional and mission-driven manner at all times.

- This is a part-time position with required availability during evenings and weekends as needed, including serving as building leadership during designated shifts.
- Demonstrated ability utilizing computer-based business systems.
- Experience in effectively relating to a diverse range of customers, members, and staff.
