Maintenance Mechanic Helper
Summary/Objective:
Under general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Junior Maintenance Mechanic shall perform a variety of maintenance duties as directed or instructed. He or she shall assist other maintenance personnel in performing any task in their specification; however, only under their direct guidance. This is an Entry Level position. All work will be done in compliance with EPA, Hazmat and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

- Assist in maintenance and repair of production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Perform and document regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Some HVAC.
- Perform a variety of basic plumbing maintenance, basic electrical maintenance and basic carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- May help with snow removal in the winter.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
- Complete inspections of facilities.
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
- Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Mechanical inclination.
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers and small hand tools.
- Strong time management with the ability to multitask.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Able to work well with minimal supervision.
- Ability to be respirator certified
- Ability to operate powered industrial equipment
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time entry level position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. for second shift, 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM 4-day work week for 3rd shift). Occasional overtime as deemed by management and production needs. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

Required Education And Experience- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of related experience.
