Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant role is a crucial position for those who rely on others for basic daily care, such as bathing, eating, and personal hygiene. Caregivers typically work with elderly or disabled individuals in a facility or home care setting. All assignments are per diem (as needed)/On Call

Dementia and Professional Caregiver Experience Required

Annual income potential of $50,000 - $55,000+ for long-term commitment to assignments possible.

Caregiver Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating.
  • Assist clients with medications, ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.).
  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
  • Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises.
  • Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals.
  • Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members.
  • Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors, and family members.
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience as a professional caregiver, healthcare environment, hospice, in-home care, group home
  • CNA or PCA
  • 2+ years professional experience REQUIRED
  • Must have training and on the job experience with dementia patients, hoyer lifts, safe transfer skills and hospice
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for every shift (this requirement does not apply to live-in caregivers, however, we do prefer that you have a valid driver's license)
  • Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
  • Outstanding communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Physical endurance to complete required tasks
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
  • Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Must complete all Covid-19 training and follow protocols put in place
