Finance Director - Manufacturing - Fall River - Onsite
A growing manufacturing company serving clients across New England is seeking a Finance Director to lead and scale its finance and accounting function. This role reports directly to the President and will serve as a key member of the leadership team.
The role will lead all aspects of financial reporting, cost accounting, cash management, and ERP system oversight, while providing strategic insights to support growth, operations, and potential acquisitions.
ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Reporting
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial statements
- Maintain disciplined reconciliations for cash, inventory, WIP, fixed assets, accruals, and other key balance sheet accounts
- Prepare journal entries, supporting schedules, and variance analyses
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and periodic reforecasting efforts
- Provide financial analysis and decision support for pricing, capacity planning, capital expenditures, and strategic initiatives
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Oversight
- Lead job-based cost accounting, including standard and actual job costing, overhead allocation, and margin analysis
- Oversee WIP accounting, inventory valuation, and sub-ledger reconciliation to the general ledger
- Provide job- and customer-level profitability analysis to support quoting, pricing, and strategic decisions
ERP & Systems Optimization
- Serve as finance lead for the company’s ERP system
- Ensure data integrity across master data, item setup, job structures, and chart of accounts
- Reconcile ERP sub-ledgers to the GL and resolve discrepancies arising from the system
Cash Management & Compliance
- Oversee AP, AR, purchasing, and collections to support cash flow
- Ensure multi-state sales tax calculation, filing, and compliance
- Manage relationships with bank, auditors, insurance brokers, etc.
- Support loan covenants, insurance, and other external reporting requirements
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop a lean accounting team
- Be a visible presence on the shop floor, fostering collaboration across departments
M&A & Strategic Support
- Assist with evaluation and integration of potential acquisitions, including financial due diligence, quality of earnings review, and accounting integration
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 7+ years accounting/finance experience in manufacturing industry
- Experience in high-volume custom manufacturing environments
- ERP implementation or system transition experience, including data migration and module reconciliation
- CPA, CMA, or other professional certification a plus
- M&A, multi-entity reporting, or integration experience is desirable
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader with manufacturing experience, ERP expertise, and a track record of building strong accounting processes and teams. The approximate salary range for this position is between $140,000K-$160,000K, depending on experience.
