We are currently looking for a Multi‑Skilled Road Surfacing Operative to join our friendly team at Tarmac Contracting covering the region around the Falkirk area. Our gangs work predominantly in the Scottish central belt, South East, and South West of Scotland.
Main Responsibilities- Operate various plant associated with road surfacing (paver, rollers, tractor or chipper, etc.)
- Work with hot coated materials on site and operate plant as required by the role
- Lay coated materials in accordance with specification and to BS tolerances
- Maintain plant and uphold the highest levels of housekeeping
- Promote a culture of zero harm and behavioural safety
- Comply with and promote Health, Safety, and Environmental measures around the site
- Have proven experience working within the road surfacing industry, including highways, motorways, airfields, and A roads
- Hold a CSCS card (preferred)
- Have experience in asphalt and road laying
- Have experience operating road surfacing machinery/equipment and hold the relevant plant tickets
- Ideally have project work experience – especially on motorways
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Be a good communicator and motivated
- Hold a valid UK driving licence
- Be flexible in your working approach
