Overview
HC-One are looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and great understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. You’ll be organised, meet deadlines, present food attractively, follow recipes precisely, and communicate with Residents and co-workers with kindness and consideration.
In your role as an Assistant Chef at HC-One, you’ll value one thing above all:

As an Assistant Chef you will:
- cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love
- provide outstanding support to the First Chef, taking charge in their absence
- manage food stock, work out how to make the most of the budget
- coach a colleague or supervise the kitchen clean-up
- always have Resident wellbeing in mind above anything else
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should recognise signs of potential abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if concerns arise. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
