CNC Machinist

This position performs machining operations and is responsible for meeting daily production requirements. This position is dedicated to getting the job done right the first time and promotes a safe work environment focused on overall continuous improvement and world‑class manufacturing

• Operate machine while proving out new programs
• Check tooling, setups, program coordinates, and any other information to ensure a quality part
• Make all corrections as needed by editing program
• Make necessary notations for changes or corrections in control
• Make suggestions for further improvements in program to shorten run times
• Analyze tooling, setups and procedures and make recommendations for improvements
• Operation involves loading, unloading, and pre‑positioning of work in fixtures, checking of parts for conformity with dimensional specifications by use of fixed gauges, calipers
• Remain constantly alert to detect improper machining

• Two‑year Machining Technology degree preferred
• Experience in Machine Shop Math Horizontal mill setup experience - Preferably FANUC Controls
• Read and understand blueprints
• Know and understand CNC G & M code.
• Follow directions/instructions step‑by‑step. Has a working knowledge of speeds, feeds and tooling
• Inspect parts visually and mechanically for conformance to the print and process dimensions
• Able to operate forklift, overhead crane, and other lifting devices
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition
• Good communication skills and attention to detail

Work is performed in a shop environment that is not climate controlled. This is a full-time position. Shift hours are typically Monday-Thursday, 5:30am-4:00pm, or Monday-Thursday 4:00PM-2:30am. Overtime may be required depending on production demands.

The individual may encounter pressure in meeting customer needs, balancing competing deadlines and resource constraints, although guidance is available from leaders at the site. Situations must be handled in a manner that meets customer needs and does not negatively impact customer satisfaction. Customers are both internal and external.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for the duration of the shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Employees are required to use dual lift or lift devices for heavier loads.
