Overview
A well-established, diverse and growth-oriented organization is seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead and oversee its fixed asset portfolio. This is a confidential search being conducted on behalf of our client.
Position OverviewThe Director of Construction will play a critical leadership role in managing all aspects of the company's construction initiatives. This individual will be responsible for overseeing new construction, remodels, and capital improvement projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with the company's long-term strategic goals.
This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by staying ahead of industry trends and competitive pressures.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the company's fixed asset portfolio, including planning, execution, and lifecycle management
- Lead new construction, remodel, and capital improvement projects from concept through completion
- Manage project budgets, timelines, vendors, contractors, and consultants
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
- Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align construction strategy with business objectives
- Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and cost optimization
- Serve as a visible leader who helps the organization remain competitive within its market
- 5+ years of experience in construction management and/or project management
- Proven experience overseeing multi-site or multi-project construction initiatives
- Strong leadership, communication, and vendor management skills
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance high-level planning and hands-on execution
- Willingness to travel periodically to sites throughout the Midwest
- Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 (commensurate with experience)

Some regional travel within the Midwest is required
