Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med-Surg position requiring at least 3 years of experience and stepdown-specific skills, with a consistent Friday-Saturday-Sunday schedule.

Job Details

• Acute care setting in a Stepdown/Med-Surg unit with 20 beds,

• Patient population includes respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain,

• Stepdown ratio is 1:3;
Med-Surg floor ratio is 1:5-6, with 2 nursing aides per shift,

• RNs are required to titrate drips, including Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone,

• Telemetry is present on the unit and monitored remotely,

• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen,

• Charting is performed in Epic,

• 12-hour day shifts, scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (36 hours/week),

• Every 4-week schedule includes 3 weekend shifts,

• Holiday rotation required (day or evening),

• No on-call or standby requirement,

• No floating requirement,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required,

• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required,

• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required,

• Stepdown experience required,

• Epic EMR experience,

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,

• A copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license is required for consideration,

• Any licensing disciplinary actions must be disclosed upfront,

• Royal blue scrubs required,

• Unit-specific orientation is provided,

• Two supervisor/peer references required - at least one supervisor reference, and if the candidate worked a permanent position in the last 12 months, one reference must be from that facility,

• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before returning; travelers who have worked within WVU Medicine for a cumulative total of one year must also take a 2-year break before reapplying,

• Candidates may not be submitted to more than one WVU facility simultaneously,
