MEC - Tool Room Manager

This position is responsible for the inventory control of items maintained in the tool room. Maintains the tool room in a neat and orderly manner. Assist co‑workers with tooling needs, and provide information to new employees regarding tooling and supplies.

• Receiving, recording and profiling all incoming and outgoing tool requests
• Receives, stocks, controls, and inventories tools, and support equipment in accordance with established procedures
• Issues tools, test equipment, and support equipment from the tool room, and maintains strict accountability
• Performs preventative and minor maintenance on tools and support equipment
• Ensures tools and support equipment are all clean, oiled, and serviceable
• Sorts tools and equipment for quick inventory
• Ensures tools and equipment are sent to main shop for testing, repair and/or calibration when required
• Practices good housekeeping, tool control, and ensure compliance with safety requirements at all times
• Reports any problems or issues to supervisor for assistance
• Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Must adhere to company policies and procedures
• Performs all other functions/duties as directed by Company management
• Maintaining a log of all purchases made in the field
• Obtaining and organizing all Material Transfer Request (MTRs)

• Ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities
• Ability to proficiently utilize typical Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to clearly communicate with supervisors and co‑workers
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, machines, equipment
• Ability to learn and gain knowledge
• Ability to follow work orders or receive instructions
• Ability to adhere to Safety policies and procedures

• Walking, stepping, climbing stairs to access or otherwise move from one location on the job site to another which normally involves walking within and around locations and when required to climb and descend stairs to access areas as required
• Visually inspecting material and storage areas well (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
• As a sedentary position, the positions requires the individual to be seated for long periods of time in a standard issue desk chair
• Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident which includes within and around locations and when required to climb and descend stairs to access available exits
• The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the location

• Two (2) years of tool inventory control, materials management, or other related experience.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required

• OSHA 10 Certification Preferred
