our client is currently seeking a qualified level 1 desktop support technician to join their team onsite in fairmont, wv and provide end‑user support. Overnight stays may be required for a few supported areas. Reimbursement for mileage and hotels will be provided. The work schedule is m-f 7:30 am‑4:30 pm. This is a 6‑month contract opportunity.
duties and responsibilities- replace old windows 10 desktops with new pcs
- work with users to configure pcs for use
- travel to remote facilities
- to complete desktop upgrade with user
- to perform inventory and cleanup other desktop devices
- must be reliable
- ability to drive personal vehicle to other corporate facilities
- ability to lift and carry desktop equipment
- good communication skills
- good analytical / troubleshooting skills
- strong working knowledge of ms windows operating systems
- working knowledge of ms office and basic business applications
- good customer support skills
the rate for this position is between $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
