Veterinary Technician

Colony Animal Clinic is a progressive, fast-paced, veterinary hospital located in beautiful downtown Fairhope, Alabama. We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team of animal care professionals. Key Responsibilities

* Obtain and record patient histories accurately

* Communicate and educate pet owners about preventative care, treatment plans, and wellness services

* Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed

* Perform laboratory testing, including specimen collection and analysis

* Assist with anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, and dental cleanings

* Take digital radiographs and maintain sterile equipment

* Place IV catheters and assist veterinarians during procedures

* Utilize safe animal handling techniques

* Enter medical data into practice management software

* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient clinic operations

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED required

* Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred

* Previous veterinary clinic experience required

* Ability to work 10-hour shifts and lift 50 lbs

* Strong computer skills and knowledge of veterinary terminology

* Excellent communication skills

Schedule & Benefits

* Full-time or Part-time

* Clinic hours:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM

* Weekend/holiday rotation for boarding and hospitalized patient care
