First Four Staffing is seeking an experienced Civil CAD Technician with a strong background in Alabama land development to support our client, a civil engineering firm, with projects from concept through construction. This role requires hands-on experience producing civil drawings that comply with Alabama municipalities, counties, and state regulations
, and working closely with engineers, surveyors, and project managers on land development projects across the state.
- Prepare and revise civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Produce site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, roadway designs, and erosion control plans
- Develop and manage surfaces, corridors, alignments, and pipe networks in Civil 3D
- Incorporate survey data, plats, and ALDOT requirements into design plans
- Assist with plan sets for permitting, bidding, and construction in Alabama jurisdictions
- Apply local city, county, and Alabama stormwater and zoning requirements to drawings
- Perform redline revisions and ensure drawing accuracy and consistency
- Maintain CAD standards and support multiple projects with competing deadlines
- 5+ years of experience as a Civil CAD Technician in land development
- Direct experience with Alabama land development projects
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong understanding of Alabama grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway standards
- Experience working with survey data, plats, and construction documents
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with ALDOT
, county engineers, and local Alabama municipalities - Knowledge of Alabama stormwater management, erosion control, and permitting processes
- Experience with residential subdivisions, commercial sites, and mixed-use developments
- Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, drafting, or civil technology
