The Finance team at Brahmin plays a critical role in supporting the company’s continued growth while maintaining the financial discipline behind a premium luxury brand. We are a collaborative team within a fast‑growing leather goods organization, we partner closely with leaders across the business to provide insights that guide strategic decisions and operational excellence. YourImpact
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will own the day‑to‑day accounting operations and lead a team of three responsible for core financial processes and planning activities. This role oversees the monthly close process, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and the ongoing integrity of the general ledger. The Accounting Manager will drive accurate and timely financial insights, strengthen internal controls, and partner with leadership to support strategic decision‑making.
Responsibilities also include coordinating audit preparation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
This is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week at our corporate office in Fairhaven, MA.
What You’ll Own- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting processes, including reporting for parent company. Ensures reporting is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Partnering with business owners, lead the team through a monthly review of the business channel’s performance against budget/forecasts.
- Oversee the annual budget process; ensuring cross functional expenses are properly budgeted. Presents consolidated budgets and strategic business plan to senior management.
- Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger system and monitors and reports on internal control compliance.
- Coaches team to analyze and present trends in revenue, expense, capital expenditures, and other related areas.
- Assists with special financial and business‑related studies and partners with other departments in preparing analyses.
- Provides on‑going support to outside tax accountants as well as internal and external audits.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of five years related analytical and accounting experience; including prior supervisory experience required.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and internal control compliance (SOX).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines; excellent time‑management skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Must be able to make decisions and solve problems that are general in nature and for which there are precedents.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
