About the RoleOur client, a leading manufacturer in the precision firearms and components industry, is seeking a Quality Inspector to support their quality and manufacturing teams in Fairfield, OH.
This role is critical to ensuring that precision‑machined components meet strict dimensional and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong metrology expertise, deep knowledge of GD&T, and hands‑on experience using precision measurement tools in a fast‑paced production environment.
What You’ll Do- Perform dimensional inspections on precision‑machined components using a variety of manual and electronic measuring tools
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and specifications to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Conduct runout and other critical measurement evaluations with high accuracy
- Document inspection results and maintain quality records
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to address non‑conformances and improve processes
Candidates will be tested on the proper use of the following tools and must demonstrate hands‑on competency:
- Indicators and comparators
While the assessment is foundational, precision is critical — candidates must confidently perform measurements such as runout without supervision.

- 5+ years of previous metrology and quality inspection experience

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and inspection criteria
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and inspection accuracy skills
- Basic mathematical and computer skills
- Vision abilities required for inspection work, including close vision, depth perception, and color differentiation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to work four 10‑hour shifts
- Experience writing and editing CMM programs using PC‑DMIS and/or MODIS
- Experience in high‑precision or regulated manufacturing environments
