Payroll Specialist

Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. This is a contract position requiring expertise in payroll processing within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing payroll for large hourly work forces and adept at navigating complex pay structures, including shift differentials.

Responsibilities:

- Process payroll accurately and efficiently for a large hourly workforce, ensuring timely payments.

- Manage multi-state payroll operations while adhering to relevant labor laws and regulations.

- Utilize payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now or Paycor to handle full-cycle payroll tasks.

- Collaborate with managers and employees to address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

- Apply knowledge of shift differentials and other pay structures to ensure precise calculations.

- Maintain compliance with all payroll-related policies and procedures.

- Generate reports and analyze payroll data for management review.

- Support audits by providing necessary payroll documentation and insights.

- Assist with special payroll projects as needed to streamline operations.

Requirements - Minimum of one year of recent payroll processing experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Proficiency in handling payroll for large hourly work forces, ideally over 500 employees.

- Familiarity with payroll systems such as Paycor or ADP Workforce Now.

- Strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance.

- Knowledge of shift differentials and complex pay structures.

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management.

- Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations and reporting.
