Role OverviewLets Get Checked is seeking a Junior Automation Engineer to join our rapidly growing manufacturing team. This is a dynamic, "hands‑on" engineering role designed for an analytical problem‑solver. While your primary focus will be the optimization and oversight of our ABB robotic cells, you will also serve as a key technical resource for the broader facility.
We are looking for a candidate who thrives on troubleshooting—someone who doesn't just follow a manual but seeks to understand the "why" behind system behaviors. During periods of production downtime, you will pivot to support facility‑wide engineering projects, ensuring our infrastructure is as efficient as our robotics.
Key ResponsibilitiesRobotics & Automation Oversight
- Operate & Optimize: Monitor automated production equipment (ABB robotic arms, bagging systems, etc.) to ensure maximum uptime and throughput.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve minor-to-moderate mechanical and software faults in real-time to minimize production delays.
- Calibration & Setup: Lead the precision setup and calibration of robotic cells for different production runs, ensuring medical‑grade accuracy.
- Analytical Reporting: Maintain detailed logs of machine performance, identifying trends in downtime or "near‑misses" to propose long‑term fixes.
Facility & Systems Support
- Operational Readiness: During production downtime, perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility‑wide distribution and manufacturing infrastructure.
- Process Improvement: Assist in the design and implementation of layout changes, shelving systems, or conveyor optimizations to improve workflow.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the entire facility adheres to 5S principles and medical device manufacturing standards (ISO 13485/FDA).
- Vendor Coordination: Support senior engineering staff in overseeing external contractors for facility upgrades or specialized equipment repairs.
- The "Fixer" Mindset: A strong analytical approach to problem‑solving. You enjoy taking things apart to see how they work and finding ways to make them work better.
- Education: BSc in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering field is required
. - Technical
Experience:
Familiarity with ABB industrial robots (Robot Studio, Rapid programming) and PLC logic is a significant advantage. - Versatility: Comfortable shifting from a high‑tech robotic interface to hands‑on facility maintenance tasks as business needs evolve.
- Detail‑Oriented: A commitment to the "Zero Error" mindset necessary for medical device manufacturing.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical issues to non‑technical team members clearly and concisely.
